Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Troy Bilt 17.5 HP 42 Model D609G, select shop, troy bilt

Question
My son was mowing and all of a sudden (so he says) the gas pedal just would not engage at all.  When I got on the mower it seemed to just "flop" back and forth with no tension.  Is there a belt or cable that could have broken?  This mower is 5 years old.

Answer
Hello Kelly:

What is the Model Number of your Mower? Is it 13CD609G063, 13BD609G063 or 13AD609G063? Also, By Pedal Do you Mean the Clutch/Brake Pedal? If it is a Pdeal, then the Linkage has Most Likely Jumped Off at One of the Connections. Usually the Gas is Controlled by a Lever Not a Pedal. Go to this Site Addy, http://www.jackssmallengines.net/parts.asp and Select Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab and Enter the OEM (Troy Bilt)and the Model Numbers. Now Double Click on your Model in the Results Area. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
