Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawn mower bent crankshaft, honda gcv 160, manual ps

Question
I recently bent the crankshaft on my lawn mower. It has a Honda GCV 160 engine. I replaced the crankshaft and now the engine won't start. Is there a timing to set? If so how is that accomplished?

Answer
Hello Robin:

Yes the Crankshaft has to be Timed with the Valve Cam. Purchase a Service Manual for the Engine. The Timing Instructions are in the Manual and the Manual will be of a Great Assistance as Long as you Own the Mower. Contact Outdoor Distributors @ 1-877-707-2787 and they should be Able to Assist in Locating the Service Manual. PS: I am Allowed to Answer 10 Questions a Day.
