QuestionQUESTION: 3 or 4 years old. always started with 2 or 3 pulls. today the primer bulb would not fill up. pump it 10 times and the engine would run for about 3 seconds, then die.could not find any holes in the primer bulb or plastic lines. where do i start to fix it?
ANSWER: I would start by cleaning the carburetor, there maybe something clogging an orfice. Weed trimmer carbs are fairly straight forward if you lay the parts in the correct order as you dis-assemble the carb.

QUESTION: yes i have an air compressor. i took the carburetor apart and there was some trash under the diaphram under the bulb. there is a small metal flapper on a little shaft under ther and the flapper was frozen to the shaft. the carburetor is soaking in cleaner tonight, and hopefully it will after cleaning. thanks
