Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): craftsman edger, fluid reservoirs, engine 143

craftman edger engine # 143.963509 under water approxmately 2 weeks during a flood -  (salt water) I have not tried to start it yet, have drained all fluids , even put marvel mystery oil in the oil reservoir to see if that would help   I have been going thru some of yalls questions and answers and came across the flywheel/pullcord  delima-I took off the starter cord assembly and turned the flywheel manually,  this made the blade turn-does this mean my engine is shot   as stated in the previous answer or should i give it a try once i re do my carb??? etc any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Hi I would try to fix it first thing is take your coil off and wire brush it to get any kind of rust off and then make sure all fluid reservoirs are clean then clean the carb I would rebuild it but you can try to get away with just cleaning it thanks let me know
