Tires: tire repair, tire repair, caulking

Question
I recently purchased some brand new tires. Unfortunately, before I even got a 100 miles on them I went to fast over some rail road tracks and took a little sliver out of where the tread and side wall meets when it nicked the top of my fender.  Its not too big of a deal, but is there any caulking or substance that exists I can use to just put over it to stop it from getting any worse? Id really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Answer
Hello, Michael
I don't know of anything you could use. If it is just rubber that is damaged you should be ok. You need to really look at the place close and make sure the poly cords under that area are not damaged. If you notice even a slight bulge I would replace the tire. The rubber missing or damaged is no big deal thats what it is there for. It hads little or no strength to the tire. The cords are what holds the tire together.
