Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 2 stroke weed wacker, zama carb, weed wacker

Question
QUESTION: homelite weed eater 30cc zama carb 3 seasons old the engine surges at full throttle wont come up to full speed and wont idle? new plug-new fuel worked fine start of summer then bummed out

ANSWER: Hello Mark:

First, Remove the Muffler and Inspect the Exhaust Port for Carbon Blocking the Exhaust Port. Check the Muffler and Spark Arrestor Screen (in the muffler) for Blockage Also. If These are Clear, then the In Tank Filter May be Restricted or the Carburetor May Require Cleaning. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Trimmer, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Answer
Hi Mark:

I have Heard that One Before. You can View a Breakdown of the Trimmer at this Site Addy: http://www.ryobitools.com/service-support/outdoor-parts and Select Go to Ryobi Outdoor Parts Store. Enter Your Model Numbers and Click Search. Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Select the Engine Assembly File. Make Sure the Gasket (#19) and Bolts (#28) are Tight on the Crankcase Cover/Rear Housing (#44). If the Gasket is Good and the Bolts are Tight, then the Carburetor May Require Cleaning. For a Breakdown of the Carburetor, Go to this Site Addy; http://zamacarb.com/prod_lookup.cfm. Then Select Service and Aftermarket. Then Select the 2007 Technical Guide for Online Viewing.  Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.
