can you pleas tell me the correct procwedure to adjustmy valves and the easiest way to find TDC
model 350447, type 1026E1, code 0022211

Answer
Rotate each cylinder to top dead center.  Follow the engine strokes; intake valve open, compression, power, exahust valve open.  When the intake valve opens and then closes as you rotate the crank you are on the compression stroke.  Keep rotating until the piston is at the top of the cylinder.  At TDC, continue to rotate 1/4 inch past TDC...the piston will just start to travel down. I use a straw inserted through the spark plug hole to feel when the piston is coming up.  Once the piston is at TDC I make a 1/4 inch mark on the straw and rotate the crank until the mark is flush with the start of the spark plug hole.

Adjust both valve cleanances to .004-.006 inches.  
While holding the adjustment screw, tighten the lock nut to 60 inch pounds.  Rotate the engine several times and re-check clearance.  Complete the same procedure for the other cyclinder.
