Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 1991 JD265 stalling bogging down when hot, electric clutch, pump fuel

Question
Paul, tractor has 1235 hours on clock. Always well maintained (really). Have recently replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, carb, coil, ignition module, plug, new electric PTO clutch, removed fuel tank and cleaned with all new hoses, and fuel tank vent is ok. Tractor is also using approx 20% less gas than it used to. Engine boggs down after 30 minutes to an hour while mowing. If I turn off the PTO electric clutch it will usually idle back up, then run with the clutch engaged for a few minutes then boggs down again. I checked the compression today with a reliable gauge and while cold read 160 psi. Spec is 71 psi minimum. Don't understand this at all. Any thoughts greatly appreciated. Also for your info I live in Spring Hill, probably within 20 miles of you. Thanks in advance, Gary Hill

Answer
DAMN IT'S FREAKING HOT!!!!!!
You did almost everything you needed to except for 1 thing.
You neglected to clean the fuel pick up tube.
Pull the fender off and remove the pickup tube, blow it out with compressed air.

As you mow the debris in the tube is compacted by the pressure of the fuel pump.  When you shut the engine off, or it dies, the debris settles in the tube buying you a little more mowing time.

Did I say IT FREAKING HOT!!!!!
