Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): belts on a troy built ltx 1842?, car ramps, rear wheels

Question
How can I install the belts on a troy built ltx 1842? The model # is 2 lines 188392 then 13AP609G063. the serial # is 1F173H10126. I have never worked on a riding mower before. I need to know the safest way to position the mower to work on it, what needs to be done to get to the belts and how the belts are to be positioned. Both belts have been removed.

Answer
Hello Ken:

Go to this Site Addy, http://www.jackssmallengines.net/parts.asp and Select Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab and Enter the OEM (Troy Bilt)and the Model Numbers 13AP609G063. Now Double Click on your Model in the Results Area. Now Select the Drive, Controls, Rear Wheels File. You can See the Belt Routing in this File. Remove the Cutter Deck from the Mower. To Remove the Deck; 1- Remove the Spark Plug/Plugs. 2- Remove the Deck Drive Belt from the Deck Pulley. 3- Pull the Rear Deck Release Pins (#36 in the Deck Assembly File) and Release the Front Deck Release. 4- Slide the Deck Out from Under the Mower. I Use a Mower Jack to Lift and Support the Riding Mowers for Working Under them. A Pair of Car Ramps Turned Reverse will Work to Support and Hold the Mower in the Air Safely. Now Using the Drive, Controls, Rear Wheels Breakdown, you should have Little to No Trouble Changing the Belts. They are Hard to Get to and Removing the Battery and Battery Tray will Give you Better Access to the Pulleys and Belts. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
