Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawn Tractor wont turn over (contd), fly wheel, bridgers

Mr. Bridgers:  As follow-up to my previous- you asked the model no. of my Craftsman tractor- it is 917.271061.  I also checked my oil level.  It was above full; but it did not smell like gas.  As info, I did put oil in it but it but it was probably two months ago- & it has performed great (other then putting a new starter on it).

How Does the Starter Turn the Engine with the Spark Plug Removed? How Does the Engine Turn with the Spark Plug Removed and the Belts Removed from the Engine Pulley? Have you Checked the Coil to Make Sure it is Not Dragging on the Fly Wheel? The Coil is Set to .020in from the Flywheel. Have you Jumpered Straight to the Starter from the Battery. How Does the Engine Turn? I am Having Trouble Locating the Past E-Mails, but will Locate them and Refresh my Memory on this Mower.
