Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman 21cc Weed Wacker Carb Issue, carburetor body, fuel starvation

Question
Won't run.  I was able to prime it with raw fuel dripped into the carb throat, and it fired right up.  So, I know it’s a fuel starvation/carb issue. I took the carb off (it's a Walbro).  Thankfully, the carb design is very similar to my Yamaha PWC Mikuni carbs, so I can rebuild it if I know what I'm looking for.  The only difference from my Yamaha PWC carbs is the Walbro only has 2 inlets.  The inner one is the fuel inlet I assume.  (The outer is the fuel pump/return line?) When testing the fuel inlet  to see if blockage is present, I can blow air through into the bowl area with compressed air.  But, if I try it with a small tube attached to the inlet and try to blow through it with my mouth, I can’t.   I removed the needle and seat and air from the inlet does make it’s way into this bowl area, however, just barely.  And, this area was dry when I disassembled it, so no fuel was making it here.  Is it supposed to be this restrictive?  I can take any pictures you might need and post them to a web site I own if this helps.  Thanks.

Answer
Hello Scott:

Remove, Disassemble and Soak the Carburetor Overnight in Carburetor Cleaner (I Use Gunk). I have Found that Most People can Use a Breakdown/IPL and Disassemble the Carburetor Enough for Proper Cleaning. You Only have to Remove the Bowl, Float Pin, Float and Needle Valve and Any Adjustment Screws that Go Into the Carburetor Body. The Welch Plugs Do Not have to be Removed. Then Soak the Carburetor Body and Parts in a 1 Gallon Can of Gunk Carburetor Cleaner Overnight. The Can has a Parts Tray Inside it for the Small Parts. Once the Carburetor and Parts are in the Cleaner, you can Replace the Lid for Safety and to Prevent Accidental Spillage. Then Blow Out the Passages with Compressed Air. Install New Parts if Required. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Carburetor at this Site Addy, http://69.16.165.8/ and Select Service & Aftermarket. Now Select Aftermarket Parts and Service. Now Select the OEM . Now Select Trimmer. Now Select your Carburetor from the List Provided. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
