Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Kawasaki rpm adjustment, stop screw, model numbers

Question
We get the mower to start after 1 pull, but how do we get the 6.0 Kawasaki (1999-2000ish) to a lower rpm than wide open? Where is the adjustment located?  Self-propelled mechanism has been removed and engine put on a different frame. There are no model numbers or serial numbers.

Answer
Usually when an engine is stuck at wide open it is because it needs to have the carb cleaned.  Instead of cleaning the carb people tend to turn the idle stop screw in to compensate for the carb problem.  Look at the top of the carb.  Look for the screw that is vertical to the ground. It will have a spring under the screw. back out the screw until the engine idles down.
