Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): john deere riding lawn mower, crew cheif, belts and pulleys

Question
QUESTION: hey paul.... I would like to turn my john deere riding lawn mower into a race tactor.  What do I do to increase its speed?????????????????

ANSWER: You will have to scrap the existing belts and pulleys and change the sizes.  Think about a 10-speed bike. The bigger the front sprocket the faster the bike.  It just takes a lot more horses to get the speed up.

QUESTION: Paul, thanks for the info but I am a little confused about the belts and pulleys idea.  I understand the 10 speed bike analogy to increase the speed of the bike but where do I find these belts and pulleys on the John Deere???????

Answer
Wow Mark, sounds like tractor racing isn't going to be easy for you.
Sounds like you need to hire a pit crew and crew cheif and you stick to the driving.

Pull the mower deck off get out the creeper and roll under the tractor. NOW LOOK UP.

Thanks for the good review.  You will be right at the top of my, my space under this weeks idiot of the week.  Tell me, did you even look or try for a second to figure out this on your own?
