Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Kawasaki engine problem, kawasaki engine, reed valve

Question
Paul,I just thought of something else after reading some other posts.I am wondering if i have enough engine vaccumn to make the fuel pump work.I do not have a vaccumn guage but when i was turning engine over i could not feel any suction.Where would i look for vaccumn problems on the Kawasaki FC420V engine?

Answer
Breather, crankseal, sump gasket, valve cover, reed valve, etc. You get the picture.  Put a kleenex over the top of the dipstick hole and crank the engine.  Does the kleenex go up and down the top of the tube.  If it does you have vacumn.  Fuel pump failures are extremmely rare. almost non existent. most problems are clogged tank outlets or pickup tubes.
