Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John Deere F525, john deere f525, cable ends

Question
Paul.  I have a John Deere F525 and need to replace the positive battery cable.  It looks like i need to remove the left fender to access the cable.  However, I cannot seem to be able to find out what is keeping the fender on. I have removed the 2 screws at the footrest and it still binding somewhere near the gas tank.  Do you know how to remove the fender?  Your assistance is appreciated.

Answer
Many times you have to remove both fenders as an assembly.  Can you dis-connect both cable ends and slide the cable through the fender access?

If you can, tie a string string or use steel wire attached to the old cable before you pull it through the access.  Once the old cable is out, attach the new cable to the string or wire and pull it back through the fender assembly.
Let me know if this helps.
