Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): brake switch on JD 110, brake switch, shift lever

Question
you mention having to manually hold the switch in and turning key.  where is the switch and is there a bypass switch?  My brake pedal does not stay compressed during start and won't allow the engine turn over.  headlights work it is not the battery - 70 hrs on machine like new

Answer
Hello Charles:

This Model has a Neutral Start Switch. Look for it Around the Shift Lever. It is a Plunger Type Switch. Disconnect the Wires and Try to Start the Engine. If it Does Not Turn, then Connect the Wire Ends and Try to Start the Engine. There are 2 Types of Safety Systems. On One you have to Simply Unplug the Switch. The Other you have to Jumper the Harness Connections to Complete the Circuit. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.H... and Enter the Model Numbers and Click Find. Then Select the Sectional File. Then Select the Section of the Mower you Wish to View Online. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
