Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Snapper mower deck wont engage., snapper mower, samething

Question
I have a Snapper Yard Cruiser with a 38" deck and I believe a 14hp B&S engine.  The last time I mowed my yard, I noticed the deck would disengage without me getting off the seat, but the engine would keep running fine.  I would have to push the deck switch off, then back on, and kind of shake the mower to get it to re-engage.  When trying to mow my yard today, the samething happened, but it would not re-engage.  I have an extra swith that I installed and have the same problem.  I took the cover off over the deck (floorboard) to see the if the belts moved, and noticed the belt moves a little very slowly when I try to engage the deck and I can also hear a whining sound like the clutch is trying to engage but can't.  Will replacing the clutch to the deck fix this you think?  (Sorry this is so long, just wanting to give you all the info I can)

Answer
Hello Jeff:

No Worries. The Longer the Better Information I Get. lol. If the Belts are Good and Not Slipping, then Remove and Clean the PTO Engine Ground First. The PTO Ground is a Common Cause of this Problem. If the Ground is Clean and the PTO Still Does Not Engage Properly, then you May need to Replace the PTO. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Mower, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
