Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Sear lawn tractor, safety switches, mower deck

Question
ok, its alive! the carb was soaked and blown and I put it back together. after playing with the safety switches and such she starts with a key and runs and drives. Next problem... I try and engage the mower deck.... nothing! the motor just keeps running I can keep driving but nothing is moving with the mower deck. As I said before this mower sat in a field for 2 years. Do I need to try and grease something somewhere or manipulate something? Not sure where to start next. Thanks again for all of your good advice.

Answer
Hello Again Jim:

Which Jim are You? Sorry But I have 17 Jims Listed and they All have a Sears Model Number by Their Names. LOL. You need to see if this is a Manual Blade Engagement or Electric (PTO) Blade Engagement System. If it is a Manual System, then Check All the Idlers and Any Moveable Components. Check the Linkage from the The Blade Lever to the Deck. A Clip May have Rusted Out and the Linkage has Fallen Off. If the System is a PTO Engagement System, then Check the Fuse and Check the PTO Ground at the Engine. Loosen this Connection and Clean it Good. Also, Please Send the Mower Information so I can Locate our Past Conversations. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
