Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Battery not charging, kawasaki fb460v, voltage regulator

I have a John Deere Hydro 165 riding mower. Engine is a Kawasaki FB460V 12.5 horsepower. Code is FB460V-BS00, serial number is FB460V 048506. The battery is not charging. Jumps fine and runs fine. I suspect it may be the voltage regulator. How can I test the voltage regulator? Is there something else I should check and if so how do I check it. Thanks.

Hello Ron:

Usually the Voltage Regulator is the Cause of a Not Charging Problem on these Engines. Disconnect the Regulator and Check the Current Coming from the Stator.
