Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John Deere STX 30, throttle shaft, john deere stx 30

Question
I have a John Deere STX 30 that wont start and I was told it was the governor, so I need to know how to adjust the governor. Can you help?

Answer
It is not the governor.  No matter how it is adjusted it won't keep your tractor from starting.

You adjust the gov by loosening the clamp on the gov arm. Turn everything, gov rod, gov arm, throttle shaft to wide open throttle, now retighten the gov arm.

Trust me this is not going to make your tractor run.
