Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): low oil shutoff on McCulloch small generator, mccolloch, hp engine

Question
Hi John,
I'll have to get back with you on the engine model, etc..but here's a question in general.  I have 2 generators.  One Craftsman, with a 9hp briggs, ( not ohv), that when I tilted it getting it out of my truck, tripped the low oil shut off.  I couldn't reset it nor did I know how.  I just snipped the wire comming out of the crankcase and it started fine. I have a smaller McColloch 2000w generator with a 7 hp engine that has done the same thing.  It has a starting moduel that I replaced free of charge thanks to McColloch as they suspected being the problem.  I think I've tripped the low oil shut off on it as well.  What's the propper way to reset a low oil shut off?  I'm not even sure which wire to snip on the McColloch and really don't want to anyway.

Thanks for any help!

Answer
Hello Jeff:

Without the Model Numbers I Can Not Be of Much Assistance on this. There are Several Different Types of Low Oil Shut Off Sensors. Your Model Numbers Will Assist me in Determining which Type was Installed in your Engine. Thanks.
