Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): JD 425 AWS L&G tractor, kawasaki engine, delay control

My tractor quits running after it gets hot, almost like it is out of gas-still has 1/2 tank. It has a 20 hp Kawasaki
engine in it,new air and fuel filters did not help.  Any
help would be greatly appreciated.

You are suffering from a failed tdc module.  They are about 15.00.  Common, your Deere dealer will have it in stock.

TDC stands for Time Delay Control.  It's the device that makes your engine shutoff about 2 seconds after you turn your key to off.  It's main function is to keep your engine from backfiring when driving on rough terrain.
