Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): McCulloch MB3202 Blower, kansas city market, carb settings

Question
I started the blower for first time this season after a few attempts it started but was very rich, spitting liquid from exhaust, and smoking heavily. this cleared up after a few seconds but I cant get to run wide open or idle on its own. I could only maintain about half throttle with the choke in mid position.  I am going to replace the spark plug, clean the air filter and clean/replace spark arrestor. Any other suggestions?  I also need to find the correct carb settings as I have now fiddled with these.

Answer
Carb settings are 1 1/4-1 1/2 turns out. The problem you are having was caused by not putting the blower away correctly last year, that and the fact it's a McCulloch. You need to disassemble and clean the carb.

Here comes the "Truthmiester" part. This blower is a flaming hunk of !#%$##^.

You can buy 1 in the Kansas City market for about 49.00.
You got what you paid for John.  A reliable blower that will give you a lifetime of use will cost 185.00 or more and is only available from a dealer.
