Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Tractor shutting down, craftsman lt2000, thanks in advance

Question
I own a 3 year old Craftsman LT2000 (Kohler Engine)model#917273130.  I'm sure you've heard this before where the tractor shuts down after 20-30 minutes.  You wait 30min or so and it starts back up again only do it all over again (shutting down, that is).  I already did the spring maintenace (spark plug, fuel filter, oil filter, battery and of course fresh oil.  I've already changed the gas cap, but to no avail.  I've read that the culprit could be the coil.  My question is...is it difficult to locate/change the coil? Also, how much does the part cost?

Thanks-in-advance!

Answer
Coils are easy. To find the coil follow the plug wire until it stops. That's your coil. It is a simple swap. Place a business card between the flywheel and the coil when installing the new one.

Since I don't know your engine model all I can tell you about the price is that "IT IS CHEAPER THAN A NEW MOWER!"

Just kidding, bad day at work.

Seiously though, coils average between 35.00 and 60.00. I think this engine's will hit in about the middle. 42.50
