Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): stihl trimmer, grass trimmer, stihl

Question
i have a stihl (fs66) grass trimmer that won't start.  it has spark and good gas.  i have narrowed it down to the gas not getting into the carb.  gas line and filter seem to be in working order.  any ideas?
thanks

Answer
The first thing you need to do is pull off the muffler and look inside the engine. If you see any scoring stop right there. Your trimmer is toast. If the port into the engine is clogged clean it out.
If the piston looks ok remove the carb and take it apart and clean it. It is pretty easy. Take the 4 screws off one side and lay the parts out in the order you removed them. Do the same thing with the other side. It will probaly only have 1 screw. Clean all the metal parts with aerosol carb cleaner and reassemble.
