Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 6.5hp Honda lawn mower accelerating problem, honda lawn, throttle cable

Question
I have a 6.5 Honda 4 cycle lawn mower.  It will start good, but it will not
accelerate when I move the throttle to FAST, so when I engage the blade, the
engine kills.  It will accelerate good if I move the governor lever by hand. The
contol wire from the throttle works OK to one side of the carb, but the lever on
the other side of the carb moves only half way when throttle is set to Fast. HELP

Answer
Hello Walt:

Send me the Model Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. It May be the Throttle Shield has Slipped and the Throttle Cable Needs Adjusting or the Governor Control Spring May need Replacing. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
