Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman 10hp 1030, model craftsman, proper manuals

Question
I recieved an older model craftsman that is 5 speed is electric startand has 30" cut. I can`t get it started and I dont know why can you help me. I dont know anything about engines so explaining to me in "idiot" terms would be helpfull.

1- Explain to me Exactly What is Happening, Please. 2- Is the Engine Turning and Not Starting? 3- Is the Engine Starting and Quiting? 4- Is the Starter Engaging the Engine? Send me the Model Numbers Off the Mower and the Emgine, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manuals and Better Assist you. Thanks.
