Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): seat safety switch, lawn tractors, safety switches

Question
QUESTION: I just bought a new simplicity regent single cylinder 20 HP 44" deck mower. The seat safety switch is horrible. Can't do much but firmly sit on the seat for it to run. I took the two wires going to the switch under the the seat off and connected them together thinking that it would close the circuit permanently and keep the mower running. But it didn't work. As soon as the brake is released it shuts down. How do I disconnect this pain in my .... Thank you.
ANSWER: Hello Nade:

I Don't Really Suggest Disconecting the Safety Switches for Any Reason. However, I Understand the Problem. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Mower, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. This Mower May have a Safety Interlock Relay. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

QUESTION: Thank you for your help. The mower model is TR/MWR-Regent 20H SMI 44" KOH DOM 2007. Part # 2690574. These numbers are off the mower. Any recommendation is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Answer
Hello Nade:

Are you Sure you Have a Good Connection? I have Reviewed the Electrical Diagram and there is No Interlock Relay. The Jumper Should Complete the Circuit and Bypass the Seat Switch. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, http://www.jackssmallengines.com/ and then Select Click Here for Help Finding a Part or to Order a Part at the Top Right of the Page. Then Scroll to the Parts Look Up Button and Click on the Left of the Page. Now Select Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select OEM (Simplicity). Then Select the Simplicity File. Then Select Lawn Tractors. Then Select Regent Series. Then Scroll to your Model and Select it. From the Menu on the Right Select Electrical Group. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.
