Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Murray Turfmaster 3 in 1 Combo, turkey baster, breather vent

Question
I have the above mentioned mower, model #223310X24A, serial#751041393160073.  My friend gave it to me hoping I could get it to work again.  Apparently, her grandson felt the dipstick was lying to him when it said "full" and he filled the mower to overflowing with oil.  The mower will start, but not continue to run.  I removed the extra oil (I think) with a turkey baster, checked the air filter (seems clean but smells of oil) and checked the gas.  I am uncertain how to proceed from here.  I have a limited knowledge of engines, maybe there is a simple fix for this problem.  Can you help me?
Thank you for your time,
Beth

Answer
Hello Beth:

As I Understanf the Problem. You have the Oil Level Back Down to the Correct Level. The Mower Starts and then Quits within 1 Minute or Less. The Problem May be the Carburetor needs to be Cleaned and the Crankcase Breather/Vent May need to be Removed and Cleaned to Remove Excess Oil from it. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. The Turfmaster Model Doesn't List the Engine Model. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
