Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): ust generator, carburetor rebuild kit, pep boys

QUESTION: john i have a ust generator i bought from pep boys and the problem im having is the motor surges or like it wants to go dead then it will pick back up then 5 seconds later it will act like going dead it does this for like 5 minutes or 10 minutes and then it will last the rest of the night down at deer camp. the only bad thing pep boys gave number to call for parts and they tell me u cant buy parts for this.am i screwed or do u think it is something where i don't have to buy parts i put new spark plug cleaned carb in gunk.
