Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): steering problem yard machines, proper manuals, klye

Question
QUESTION: I have a mid 90's yard machines(it was given to me, I don't know what year)

Anyways, the steering rod that connects the steering wheel to the tires popped off the little ball that it connects to(on the axle) to control the tires. It won't stay on when I mow and it's quite annoying. I can't quite figure out how to get it to stay on.

I know that's not very specific, if you need more details pleas email me, I really need help with this. jamesz71kyle@yahoo.com

Hello Again Klye:

Thanks for the Information. Go to this Site Addy, http://www.buymtdonline.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Home_BuyMTDOnline_10101_19 and Select the Use Our Detailed Parts Finder. Then Enter the Model Numbers 13AM675G062 and Click Search. Then Double Click the Year Model 1997. This is the Breakdown/IPL I am Using for Reference. Now Select Front Steering Assembly. If you Tie Rod (#30) has the Adjustable Tie Rod, then you can Replace the Tie Rod Ends (#29 Part Number 723-0318). If the Mower has the Solid Tie Rod (#30 Part Number 747-0861) then you need to Purchase a New Tie Rod. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
