Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Replace Pull Handle Cord, rope and pulley, recoil starter

Question
QUESTION: John,
I have a Lawn Boy SilverPro Series push mower.  The pull handle cord finally broke.  Replacement looks tricky.  Should I attempt this or take it somewhere?  If DIY, got any good tips or directions?  I am probably above average DIYer.

ANSWER: Hello Jeremy:

You should be Able to Do this Repair Yourself. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Mower, Please. With these I can Locate the Manual Online for you To View. This will Simplify the Process and I will Have a Reference Breakdown/IPL for you to Refer to. Thanks.

QUESTION: 10323 is model number.  Thanks, this is great.
ANSWER: Hello Again Jemery:

Thanks for the Information and the Good Words. Go to this Site Addy, https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/default.cfm?xCaller=LawnBoy and Select Start Parts Viewer. Then Enter the Model Numbers. Then Select View Assembly Drawings. Then Select the Recoil Starter or the Engine. If the Rope is All the Broke, then Remove the Recoil Assembly from the Engine. On Some Model you have to Remove the Blower Housing (the Metal Engine Cover). Remove the Old Rope from the Pulley. Now Turn the Pulley Clockwise and Tighten the Spring Until the Pulley Stops Turning. Now Reverse 1 or 2 Rotations and Line Up the Pulley Hole With the Hole in the Recoil Housing. Thread the New Rope Through the Pull and Out through the Recoil Hole. Once the Rope has Pulled Tight Against the Knot you Tied in the End of the Rope Earlier (i forgot this Earlier lol)Tie a Slip Knot in the Rope to Hold the Rope and Pulley in Place While the Handle is Attached. Release the Slip Knot and the Rope Should Recoil Into the Housing. Reassemble. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck

QUESTION: John,
Changing the cord was a snap.  Thanks!  What about fixing the recoil?  It's been broken for some time now but I was able to get by with 1/2 pull.  This last yank must have ruined it.  Got any directions for that?

Thanks in advance.

Answer
Hello Again Jeremy:

These are Not Serviceable. The Recoil is Sold as an Assembly. The Cord is the Only Servicing that Lawn Boy has for the Recoil Starters. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.
