Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman Kohler 15.5 riding mower wont start, craftsman model, sorry jeff

Question
QUESTION: Craftsman Model#917.271022 Kohler Model#CV15S.
I haven't started this mower in 4 years.  I initially fixed an electrical problem and replaced a breather hose.  After replacing the hose, I put fresh new gas.  I also have a new battery.  I checked the oil and the air filter and both appear to be ok.  I cranked it up and it started and ran for about 30 seconds..then died.  It will turn over but will not start.  I am not sure what my next trouble shooting step should be.  As you can tell, I am definately a novice at this type of thing.  I have plenty of tools and I am eager to get to work figuring this thing out.  Thanks in advance.
ANSWER: Does the engine have spark? I'm guessing yes. You probably need to remove the carb and tank and clean both thoroughly. Replace the rotten fuel line while you're there.
Sorry Jeff, The Truthmeister is a popular dude. Mid week, 9:30 central time and I'm usually not maxed out.
