Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman Weed Trimmer Starter Rope, hex head screws, craftsman weed trimmer

Question
Hi: I have a weed trimmer from Sears that works great once started (even though it turns an inconvenient backwards direction). However, the recoil starter rope almost never goes back in so I can usually only pull the rope once. I have to coax it back in with many tries. Is there an easy way to lubricate this mechanism from the outside? Do the hex-head screws in the plastic near the front of the motor undo the area I would need to work in if I cannot lubricate from the outside? Thanks, ALLAN

Answer
Hello Allen:

Sorry for the Delay. This Question was Located in the Question Pool. Send me the Model Numbers, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. You Can Remove the Cover in About 5 Minutes and Then Using PB Rust Cataylist, Lubricate Behind the Pulley to Hit the Spring. From your Description, it Sounds as though the Recoil Spring has Stretched and Needs to be Tightened. This is a Simple Process on Some Model Sears Trimmers. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
