Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): tiller not firing, briggs and stratton, briggs stratton

Question
I have a garden tiller that i received after my father-in -law passed it has been sitting up for some time, not sure exactly how long but i replaced the fuel tank and carburetor, i also put in a new plug and cleaned the flywheel of the rust that had accumulated on it and the coil but when i tried to start it, it would not fire. it is a Briggs & Stratton model 137202 wizard garden tiller. can you help?

Answer
Hello Bernard:

Remove the Shut Off Wire from the Coil and Check for Fire. If there is No Fire, then the Coil is Bad. If it Does Fire then Check the Cut Off Wire for Bare Spots that May Ground or a Bad Shut Off Switch. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine at this Addy, http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ and Select the B. Then Select Briggs and Stratton. Then Select Don't have Part Numbers. Then Select the File #13. Then Select the Folder #137200. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
