Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Briggs model 10G902, briggs and stratton, yardman mower

Question
I have a Yardman mower with a Briggs and Stratton 10G902 engine.

The mower works great, but the rubber primer button is not sucking any gas into the carb. is this a gasket problem?
The rubber primer button is in like new condition.

thanks for your time
Tony

Answer
This is usually a gasket problem. There is a small port in the front of the carb that the air from the prime flows through. if the gasket is blown it travels the path of lease resistance. While you have the airbox off drop the float bowl and give it a quick cleaning with Gumout.
Good thing they're hauling gas...... an ocean going fuel tanker gets 137 gallons a mile.
