Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 16hp B&S Vanguard Carb Overflow, overflow tube, hose barb

Question
Hi John, I have an Ingersoll tractor, model 4016, with a B&S 16hp Vanguard V-twin OHV (horizonal shaft) engine on it, model 303447, Type 0447-01 (under 'type': 3441), Code 9304171, with a (new) Nikki carburetor, #809011, (supposed to be direct replacement for the stock 807908). I haven't got it running yet, except with starting fluid, because (now) the fuel line is clogged between the tank and the filter, and I still don't know whether the fuel pump works or not... I'll clear/R&R the line in the morning. Monday I R&R'd the carb, flushed the fuel tank & R&R'd the tank hose barb fitting &  fuel filter. My question is, where (what tube/destination) is the floatbowl overflow tube connected to? IE, there doesn't seem to be an overflow tube to connect to the carb... Do I just run a tube back to the tank or put a cap on it?  I don't have a manual & couldn't find any info on the Internet. thanks for your help!! Best regards,
Jon

Answer
 Hello Jon:

Run a Short Hose and Direct Any Overflow Away from the Engine and Allow the Carburetor Bowl to Vent. If the Float Does Happen to Stick and the Carburetor Bowl does Flood, the Excess will Flow to a Safe Area and Not Onto the Carburetor or the Engine. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
