Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 17hp bolens lawn tractor, bolens lawn tractor, shut off valve

Question
Gas is getting into the oil on my mower. After I became aware of this, I put a shut-off valve on the line and turn it off when not in use. This helped some, but it still gets in and when I mow on an incline, large clouds of white smoke comes out for about 5 seconds. This happens only once each time I mow, then it usually does ok.

Answer
 Hello Elmo:

Did you Install the Plastic Shut Off or the Metal Shut Off. I have been Noticing that the Plastic Shut Off Valves are Not working as They Should. Some of My Customers are having to Replace them with a Small Metal 1/4 Turn Cut Off. The Valve is Sold by Rotary and Usually can be Purchased or Ordered from your Local Small Engine Service Center. The Rotary Identification and Part Number is Cut Off Valve 90 degrees Rotary #11271. These Valves Seem to be Doing Better, But we Just Started Using the New Valve Last Fall. Did you Rebuild or at Least Install a New Needle and Seat for the Float? If Not, then I Suggest you Do so. The New Needle and Seat will Assist in Correcting the Problem. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
