Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Cub Cadet Upper Variable Speed Belt / Engine Pulley Replacement, crankshaft pulley, variable speed belts

Question
Cub Cadet 1027 (13A-328-101 - MFG Code 6E100I10028)

I have replaced the Deck and Lower Variable Speed Belts without issue but am stuck trying to replace the Upper Variable Speed Belt (754-0453).

I downloaded instructions that say drop the engine pulley - and that appears to be exactly what I need to do - but when I try to loosen the securing bolt the entire assembly turns and the bolt doesn't loosen.

What am I doing wrong and how do I do it right?

Answer
 Hello Sean:

You are Correct in Removing the Pulley to Replace this Belt. Air Tools are Best when Removing the Crankshaft Pulley Bolt and a Few Other Bolts on Ride on Mowers. If you Don't have Access to Air Tools, then Remove the Blower Housing (metal engine cover). Then Remove the Coil. Use a Leather Belt and Make a Strap Wrench and Hold the Flywheel. Remember the Bolt Loosens by Turning Opposite the Operational Rotation of the Engine. Torque the Crankshaft Pulley Bolt to 75 foot pounds Minimum. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully
