Question
Hello, I own a troybilt 5550 generator with a ten hp ohv briggs. It will start fine in the choke position but when I move the lever to the run position it shuts off. I removed the carb. and then the bowl and they looked clear. then I put  it back on and it still ran the same. please help

 Hello Harold:

 Remove, Disassemble and Soak the Carburetor Overnight in Carburetor Cleaner(I use Gunk). Then Blow Out the Passages with Compressed Air. Install New Kit. Is the Gas Free Flowing to the Carburetor Inlet Port? Send me the Model and Type Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manuals and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps.
