Question
we have a troy built lawn tractor.  the battery went dead so we replaced it with a new one.  we started the mower and engaged the blade but it didnt appear to be cutting so we turned the mowe off.  When we turned the key the mower kept running.  the only way to shut it off was to disconnect the battery.  everytime we try to connect the battery the mower tries to start  it is model 14q2809h064

 Hello Karen:

 First Thing that Jumps to Mind is the Ignition Switch. Then the Solenoid. To check the Ignition Switch, Simply Remove the Small Lead from the Solenoid Base that Comes from the Ignition Switch. Try to Connect the Battery. If the Starter Starts Turning, then the Solenoid is Bad. If Not, then the Ignition Switch is Bad. I'm Leaning Towards the Ignition Switch. Hope this Helps.
