Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Ryobi SS30 Trimmer, ryobi ss30, adjustment screws

I have a two part problem, (1) My trimmer will idle way too high in the start position. (2) In the run position if I let my finger off the throttle it dies. What do you think could be causing this?

Have you tried adjusting the carburetor?  If not, how many adjustment screws are on the carb?  Usually there is a Low (L)speed, High speed (H) and an idle adjustment screw?
How old is the trimmer?  Is the fuel/oil mix less than 30 days old?
