Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): craftsman lawnmower model #917.376572, mower deck, spark plug

I have a 6.75 hp by craftsman.  I am use to taking a plug out from under the frame to change the oil.  I looked for the plug but failed to see it.  According to an earlier question, the easy way would get a pump to pump it out.  Is this the new way and I can't do it the old way.

There is a plug but it is under the belt guard plastic housing under the mower deck.  You can not see the plug with the belt guard in place.  You will have to remove blade and possibly the blade adapter along with the belt guard housing screws to see the plug.  DO NOT tip or tilt the mower on it's side because oil can get into the carburetor.  Raise the mower with a lift or place it on a table to gain access to the underside of the deck.

Also, REMOVE the spark plug before working under the deck to prevent the engine from starting.
