Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): snowblower not getting spark, fuzzy things, kill switch

Question
i have a older 5 hp 2 stage M/wards snowblower
and its not getting any spark
i have cleaned the flywheel and the coil
and i made sure the coil was gapped right
i put it back together and still no spark

lots of times over summer  little  fuzzy  things like to get  behind the flywheel of these things and munch on wires.   have you checked the ground wire off of coil  to make sure its not shorted out somewhere??   is kill switch  working?  if its  not solid state >  points need cleaning or replacing..   check  over these few things let me know.
