Nissan Repair: 95 Nissan Maxima Bose CD Player Quit, car stereo repair, nissan maxima

Question
I have a 95' Nissan Maxima with a factory installed Bose Stereo.  Recently the CD player stopped working and I get an "err" message on my display whenever I insert a CD.  I have tried to clean it and that did not do any good. The tape player and radio still work. I have contacted several car stereo repair centers and no one will touch a Bose Car Stereo.  I have been told that I can have it removed and sent to Bose for repair, but that it would take several weeks and cost a lot, and that I would be better off replacing it with an after market system.  I am worried because I was told that I would have to have each speaker re-wired due to the factory made amp on each one, and that my antennae would also need re-wiring.  My Bose stereo sounds great and I don't know if it will after installing another model.  I researched on the internet and found some information that suggests a broken soldering connection.

Answer
Cheri,

You could get it repaired at http://carstereohelp.com or you could use Bose.  These guys do a great job and the turn around time is less.  Yes, if you went with a non Bose unit you would have to change all the wiring and speakers to get the system to work since the Bose have internal amplifiers in the speakers.  Your choice.
