Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Allis Chalmers 716H, allis chalmers, rear fenders

Question
Hi.  There's no lever.  I'll check with the Allis Chalmers website.  Thanks anyway!  JW

-----Question-----
Me again, I have a questions on my old tractor. It is a 1976 Allis Chalmers hydrostat drive.  I just rebuild this last year and had a great summer with it.  Does anyone out there know how to release the hydrostatic drive so you can easily push the tractor around when it is turned off?  Thanks!

Is there  a lever on the lower part of the tranmission?  Under the seat or fender?  I've seen these tractors but haven't worked on too many...they are almost as old as I am.

Did you check the antique tractor boards?
Eric

Answer
It's highly likely that the lever has been lost over the years.  If you remove the rear fenders to access the transmission you may be able to see the lever or the hole where the lever used to be.

How well does the tractor run?  Can you still find parts for it?  I'm interested in an older tractor but want to make sure parts are available.  JDs are alright, but a neat old Allis or Ferguson would be awesome.
Let me know.
Eric
