Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): no spark, john deere 345, merry christmas and happy new year

Question
What the rider is doing is sometimes starting and other times not starting. When it does not start there is no spark. It has never just quit. I did replace the Ignitor and it worked fine, started it about 10 times and drove it around my yard. When I went to change it over to a snowblower 2 days later it would not start, no spark. Put the old Ignitor back in and have been checking to see if it will start about every 2 days and it has been starting. Talked to some more people and no one can figure it out. I don't want to bring it somewhere to have it looked at because it doesn't do it all the time. Hope this explains it a little better.

-----Question-----
Have a John Deere 345. Has no spark sometimes. Checked all over and was told and read that it was the Ignitor. Changed it and still have no spark sometimes. Don't want to keep putting parts in. Ignitor cost enough, can't return because it is electrical. Any ideas what else it could be?
Thanks for your help!!

 Hello Steve:

What Exactly is the Engine/Mower Doing? Hard to Start? Runs and Quits After 15 to 20 Minutes? What are the Symptoms? It is Possible that 1 of the Safety Switches is Causing the Problem. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Addy http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.H and Enter the Model Numbers 345 and Click Find. Then Click on the Model in the Search Results Area. Then Select Sectional Index. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let em know what Happens, Please. Thanks. Be Safe.

 Good Luck

PS: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year (:-))

Answer
 Hello Steve:

The Next Time it Doesn't Start; Remove the Shutoff Wire from the Igniter/Coil and Check for Spark. Check the Coil Lead to the Plug. The Lead May be Allowing the Spark to Jump Before it Get to the Plug. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks. Be Safe.
