-----Question-----
John...my 18.5 HP B&S Troybuilt rider lawnmower slowly drains the battery between uses.  If I disconnect battery in between uses ... no problem.  I can't see a spark when reconnnecting or find a "drain."  Mower charges at 12.8V, I have replaced battery (same problem exists), what/where do I look for a problem AND how do I test (if starter or solenoid)?
Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!

Answer
 Hello Mark:

After Viewing the Breakdown/IPL of this Mower, I can See a Few Components you will need to Test with the Volt/Ohm Meter. You can View a Breakdown/IPL at this Addy http://www.buymtdonline.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/topcategory_10101_15601_-1 and Select the Launch Illustrated Search Engine. Then Select the OEM(Troy Bilt) and Enter the Model Numbers 13AJ609G766 and Click Go. The Double Click on the Model in the Search Results Area. This will Open a New Window for you to View the Breakdown/IPL. Select the Electrical Folder. With the Battery Hooked Up and the Engine Not Running; Check the Systems Indicator Monitor. Check the Ignition Switch. Looking at the Electrical Schematic I see the Only Components that have Power when the Switch is Off is the The Battery Post of the Solenoid, Ignition Switch and the Systems Indicator Monitor. Electrical Problems are the Worst and Take Time and Patience to Correct. Use the Electrical Schematic to Check the Components one at a Time Until you Isolate the Component that is Causing the Problem. I Would Check the Solenoid and the Ignition Switch First. Then the Systems Indicator Monitor. One of these 3 Components is Usually the Cause of this Problem when a Bad or Weak Cell in the Battery is Not the Cause. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks. Be Safe.

 Good Luck

 John
