Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): transaxles, happy thanksgiving, synthetic engine

Question
took the transaxle out of my deerL130 due to a fluid leal. forced the sealed fill plug out, drained the transmission, took it apart, cleaned the filter. everything looks good inside.think it was leaking around one of the mounting bolts. resealed the housing and ready to add ned fluid. problem is i can't find any information on what type of fluid to use and how much. dealers just brush me off and tell me i have to replace the unit for about $600.00 + labor. do you have any information that can help me.
 really appreciate your website!
 thank you,

Answer
 Hello Bill:

The Hydrostatic and Hydromatic Transaxles/Transmissions use SAE 30 Engine Oils and the Standard Mechanical Transaxles/Transmissions Use Lucas SAE 80W90 Gear Oil. I Use Mobile 1 Synthetic Engine Oils whenever Possible. I Don't Understand why the Business Owners Don't Help out More. It was Always to My Benefit to Assist my Customers. Oh Well. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.  Be Safe.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
