Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Green Machine Ignition, zenoah engine, steel objects

Question
Hello John and thanks for the response.  According to the sheet that came with the unit, the flywheel is part number 464007 and the coil is part number 464009.  These two parts, with these part numbers, are available on Ebay together.  If I understand you correctly, these two parts are all I need since the coil is the ignition Module/Coil/Magneto.  But that leaves the third part shown on the sheet, about the size of the coil, with part number 454008, that I don’t know what it is or if I need to replace it.  Do you know what it is?  Also, how do you tell if a magnet on a flywheel is good, other than see if it attacks steel objects?  Is there some measurement of magnetic attraction?  Thanks, Bob.

-----Question-----
Hi –
I have a Green Machine 4600LP back pack blower that after 22 years suddenly lost spark.  It is described as having solid state CDI ignition. It has a Zenoah engine. All I have is the parts view which has no description of the parts.  The parts view shows three main items in a magneto kit.  Coincidently, a fellow on Ebay is selling the ignition coil and the magneto rotor/flywheel from this kit for my machine.  So, I am assuming the third item of the magneto kit, shown in the parts view, is the magneto itself.  Unfortunately I have not been able to find one for sale anywhere.  I've worked on cars a lot, but before I buy some parts and sit down to fix this (I’ve never taken a 2-cycle engine part before) I’d like to know if there is some way to test which component of the ignition system is bad, especially since it seems I can’t buy the magneto if it is bad. Side question: in this type of system, apparently without points, rotor or igniter as a car might have, how is the spark timed?  Thank you in advance for any help you can give me, Bob

-----Answer-----
 Hello Bob:

The Flywheel Key Times the Firing of the Plug. If the Magnets on the Flywheel are Good, then Replace the Coil. On this Machine the Coil is the Ignition Module/Coil/Magneto. I Believe the Part Number is A09105. If According to your Parts List this is the Correct Part Number, I May have a Supplier for the Part. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John

Answer
 Hello Bob:

Are you Able to Send me Pictures? If I Recall this Correctly, there is a Unit (called the Pulley Assembly) that is Holding the Flywheel Onto the Engine. This is Really for the Recoil Starter and Not an Ignition Component. The Coil and Flywheel are the Only Components that are for the Ignition System. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck
